From Cabinets to Casks
Our journey from humble home brewing to award winning brewery
So, who is Triple fff Brewery?
Triple fff launched in 1997 by Graham Trott, a wood worker by trade who was a keen home brewer.
The most popular question we get asked is ‘Why are you called Triple fff?’. As many of you know all our beers (Alton’s Pride aside) are either song or album titles.
Triple fff in music stands for fortissimo and means [very very!] loud.
Graham installed a five barrel plant (20 casks) in one of the units vacated by the now closed furniture factory on Station Approach in the village of Four Marks. We now operate both a 50 barrel plant and in 2023 commissioned a brand new five barrel plant to enable us to stay true to our creative roots!
The railway station still operates on the steam heritage Watercress Line which runs ten miles between Alton and Alresford.
The beer names come from music by iconic rock icons across the ages.
The psychedelic sixties did not spawn a song called Alton Pride, but that joined the lyrical portfolio has been voted Supreme Champion Beer of Britain.
