A lady who knows a Comfortably Numb peep show where Nothing Else Matters?!

What's up?
There are always balancing items, by that I mean not everything is awesome all of the time. On the (very) positive, we were delighted to see Alton's Pride take joint gold with the super-eco excellent folks at Longman for SIBA SE British Cask Bitter, and see ever-faithful Pressed Rat & Warthog on the podium as well... The downside to this meant we were momentarily (only over the weekend and Monday) out of Pride... But all sorted now. We are annoyingly out of Sundown though - didn't quite get our scheduling right on this - sorry - more has been brewed and should be conditioned and ready for release in errr, about 3 weeks. Sorry! But we do have a lot of other beers to choose from if you scroll down.
So the subject line is a bit "unusual" even for me... Basically a run through of the large number of specials we have on the go at the moment... Lyrics/names/influences for some of what we have. Lady who knows = STAIRWAY, Comfortably numb = COMFORTABLY NUMB (obvs), PEEP SHOW - yeah this one a bit more abstract... So we've spent a lot of the summer doing some slightly experimental stuff that has probably been mostly malt based, just to be different... But the latest idea has worked on a bit more hop... Well, quite a lot more hop. FLAGPOLE CITRA is a play on the song FLAGPOLE SITTA https://youtu.be/ZVOD5D4IArw?feature=shared which is also the theme tune for the excellent Peep Show (Chanel 4 with David Mitchell & Rob Webb)... Anyway this is only a 4.3% but is properly-hoppy. More avant-garde than our usual style, but if your customers like hoppy beers, this one will hit the spot.
Also - our AMAZING COO (she's basically the adult in the room at fff) Alex is doing a 10km SWIM (swim! 10,000m) on Saturday raising money for MND. Giving is of course massively personal and of course nothing is expected but if the awful MND has impacted you or someone you love then maybe you could consider it or know someone who might.... but otherwise "go Alex!" - a 10km swim FFS - just wow! https://www.justgiving.com/page/alex-callaghan-1718968039967?utm_medium=fundraising&utm_content=page%2Falex-callaghan-1718968039967&utm_source=copyLink&utm_campaign=pfp-share

What's about?
No smoke without fire... I don't smoke myself and haven't had a cigarette for decades, but in my "yoof" definitely had a few ... Yep we know it is bad for folks etc., though I have seen some studies wherein in benefits the British economy because lots of tax raised and die younger therefore net drag on NHS is less than some who live for ages. Cheery stuff. I dunno the true story, lots of ways to manipulate data. Triple fff also always hark on about how as a company we are not political - but at the same time just looking at our battered hospitality industry and seeing the whole banning smoking in pub gardens initiative doesn't seem the best worded as it is now... Maybe if there are dedicated areas then we can all work around it, but at the moment some of these things feel a bit "ready, shoot, aim!"... And feels like a good way to alienate about 30% [my guess] of our customers. Fingers crossed there is a sensible ruling on this. Lots of folks do like to nip out for a fag in between pints. Once upon a long time ago when I worked in an office, the fire-escape smoking scene was a terrific source of information as to what the goss was as well - ho-hum.
Otherwise, wishing you the best for the weekend and the week ahead and very much hoping we can bring you some beer soon!
