What's Up?
I had a good one yesterday and thought I was being stitched up - one of those one where you wonder if you're live on radio and someone is taking the proverbial ... Totally thought it was a wind up...
An anonymous number rings and this nice lady says she is calling from a Clairvoyance business and can she talk to someone about doing an evening in our Taproom, wherein she books a table for two and she and "Glen" drink water but all the folks wanting their fortunes told buy drinks.
Massive money spinner for us, says she. I tell her to think it is interesting - but then that she probably already knew that! She doesn't get the joke. Or maybe it wasn't funny enough, but anyway, turns out it isn't candid camera or a radio wind up, it is a real thing. https://clairvoyancewithglen.com/ We have a new TapRoom manager so will let him make the ultimate call on it - a pretty different vibe but who knows - or maybe you did?!! [sorry, that one isn't funny!]
This week we've brewed a beer which is all about CarraGold Malt expression (more than the hops) and tomorrow we are christening a new (but very old skool) Square FV with Pressed Rat. No name for the new-new beer yet... Maybe given the malt story we go for Carry Me Home? And we can brew for the Rugby as well?! It will likely come out 5%...
Also, Nothing Else Matters [hence lyrics in subject matter] is ready to ship - 4.7% - one malt, one hop [Polish Magnum] and so much going on... For me, it is like the really mild tangerine and biscuity/shortbread part you get in Alton's Pride but without the bittering. Oh, my giddy aunt. And next week - COMFORTABLY NUMB will be ready for us to start selling - deliveries from 6th August. We made loads of it, but just mentioning it because it is such a cult favourite...
Folks generally a bit more 'meh - yes the time of year, but I sense that many have also just looked back at the past 6 months vs 2023, had a sigh, taken a deep breath, thought about all the things that they had done better, were a bit peeved that this hadn't transferred into better numbers and then got on with it. Good people doing good things who hopefully get an extra slingshot as this economy slowly, slowly turns.
Anyhoo - What's On?
MOONDANCE 4.2% Pale Ale - Our bestseller - nicely rounded Cascade Hop finish, almost get elderflower flavours from it... a smooth, more-ish pale ale. Best Bitter winner 2002. https://triplefff.com/collections/core/products/moondance
ALTON’S PRIDE 3.8% Best Bitter - Traditional best bitter - full-bodied and biscuity. This is my go-to. Supreme Champion Beer of Britain 2008 winner. https://triplefff.com/collections/core/products/altons-pride
SUNDOWN -4.3% Golden Ale – A Golden IPA with mild citra coming through at the end – originally brewed for the Coronation but we ran out 3 weeks beforehand and realised we had made something pretty special. My drop of choice this week. https://triplefff.com/collections/core/products/sundown
Pump clip coming soon!
NOTHING ELSE MATTERS - 4.7% Ale - One malt and one hop (Polish Magnum) yet so much going on here. Layers of different flavours, subtle but rich... I get notes of tangerine-fruit then biscuity, almost shortbread body with a really smooth and not very bitter finish. Yep this will be popular. Am sure we will be brewing again soon.
PRESSED RAT & WARTHOG – 3.8% Dark - SORRY - a real run on the last 30 casks of it caught us on the hop... Back in 3 weeks.... https://triplefff.com/collections/core/products/pressed-rat-warthog
BARBARIAN - 4.7% Lager - Clean, crisp yet as with our general style has a full body and enduring complexity - I get notes of whiskey at the end of it - that could just be my "unique" palate though?! Only KEGs left... Sorry!
What's About?
Well, we are. We're having a Brewery Open Day on 17th August. Come and join us - let me know and can suss you some free tickets [mind you it is only £5 including a fffabulous beer]. If you have your own events planned, we're 110% cool with you letting the folks at our open day know about them as well.
Please don't forget our offer as well - if you ever fancy a staff day out to educate folks, to do some bonding, to do some "sampling", to do a brewery tour etc. - we'll sort you out...
Hoping too that we can sort you out with some beer next week as well - but then maybe you knew I would say that?! [sorry]
Have a cracking weekend,
Xen
P.S.
So Putin, increasingly isolated and megalomaniac, goes to a psychic to try and learn his future.
In reading his future, she tells him he will die on a Ukrainian holiday.
"Which holiday exactly?" asks Putin.
"Any day that you die will be a Ukrainian holiday."

A woman went to a psychic and found out she was going to live to be 100!
She figured if she was going to be around that long, she may as well look her best. She got the works! Face lift, boob job, nose job and looked amazing!
Walking home after her final procedure she got hit by a bus and died.

Upon arriving at heaven she cried out "I was supposed to have 40 more years!"
God said "Oh, sorry. I didn't recognize you."
Sorry, not sorry but have a lovely weekend!
