What's Up?
Kung Hei fat Choi! Or Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Yep... We're now in the year of the Snake. Chinese Horoscopes are deeply complex ... I lived there 25 years and still have very limited comprehension - we're actually in the year of the Wood Snake... Anyway, if you're looking to understand them better - basically they are as "varied" as Western ones... In short, here is the general +ive / -ive outlook. Maybe we could ask DeepSeek?!

On the positive side, the Snake represents wisdom, knowledge, intelligence, intuition, and creativity. Snakes are also associated with good luck, prosperity, fertility, and longevity. In some legends, snakes are considered to be divine messengers or guardians of sacred places. Snakes are also revered for their ability to shed their skin and renew themselves, symbolizing transformation and rebirth.
On the negative side, the Snake represents cunning, deception, jealousy, and temptation. Snakes are often portrayed as enemies or rivals of other animals, such as the Dragon or the Tiger. Snakes are also feared for their venomous bite, which can cause death or illness. In some stories, snakes are depicted as evil or demonic creatures that can harm or seduce humans.
Yep - most bases covered there...  anyhoo hope Snake Year it is a good one for you!

To sound like a horoscope here - trade continues to be very mixed - we're up about 25%YoY but obviously that probably more sweat than tailwind - basically most places with lots of chimney pots have been pretty good, most destination venues a bit more challenged - but exceptions everywhere. Overwhelmingly a Moondance week, with lots of asks about Old Dray (out late next week).

What's About?
In brewing terms we are close to being able to release a 3.4% beer called Satisfaction which for my money - very much in its youth - is as good as any new beer we have made, including Sundown and Fool's Gold. Now the fruit can sometimes fade a touch as beers condition, but at the moment it tasters amazing.

Basically, whilst being respectful to both people's tastes and of course to other independent brewers making 3.4%s, I feel that - unsurprisingly - they lack a wee bit in body, flavour and mouth feel. I think this is a gap in the market. Of course, it is much harder to carry the flavours in a 3.4% and get all of those things, but I think that is one of the things we are generally very good at. Hopefully I have not jinxed it, and it holds up and stays as peachy as it tastes now when we get it in cask and start shipping next week. Truth will be in the tasting...

Wishing you a great week ahead and hoping we can bring you some beer next week,

Xen

P.S.

Not exactly a joke and equally not exactly a horoscope, but a good way to amuse 1 min of your time and have a laugh...  Have you ever tried putting into google or another search "Florida man <<your birthday day and birthday month>>" ... Interesting?!

There is a website too, but it doesn't give such good answers IMO! https://floridamanbirthday.org/
